The Department of Technology and Safety at UiT The Arctic University of Norway offers bachelor's and master's degrees in several fields, including aviation, nautical science, aquaculture, engineering and public safety. The department has close cooperation with the business community, which gives students opportunities to connect theory with practice through relevant projects and experiences.
Research is a central part of the department's activities, with four research groups working on projects at local, national and international levels. The department focuses on applied research, especially within professional education, and contributes to the development of expertise that is relevant to working life in the region. In addition, the Department of Technology and Safety offers courses for the business and labour community, and acts as a competence provider for various actors in the area.
