Midtnorsk Jazzsenter is a regional competence center for jazz, located in Trondheim. The center aims to promote jazz music in the region and annually produces 32 concerts with eight committed bands. In addition to the concerts, Midtnorsk Jazzsenter has entered into a partnership with the booking agency No Earplugs for the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, which is part of the centre's offer.
The center also offers work grants through SpareBank 1 SMN Jazztipendiat, aimed at musicians and composers. Projects developed at the center often have their premiere at Moldejazz, followed by tours later that autumn. Midtnorsk Jazzsenter operates several musical units, including Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, Trondheim Voices, Midtnorsk Ungdomsstorband and Young Voices, as well as MNJ records and a regional tour arrangement.
