Løkkan Kindergarten is a department under Midtbyen kindergarten, which is known as the country's oldest kindergarten, established in 1837. The kindergarten is located in the center of Trondheim, near the Nidelven River, in a villa with Art Nouveau style and stylistic characteristics. The area is characterized by beautiful deciduous trees and a varied outdoor area, which gives children opportunities for play and exploration in scenic surroundings.
Løkkan was established in 1993 and is located in a cozy wooden house on Sanden, with a view of the fjord. The kindergarten has a sheltered outdoor play area, which contributes to a safe environment for the children. Great emphasis is placed on care and closeness, which is an important part of the kindergarten's educational approach. There is also a short distance between Løkkan and the other departments in Midtbyen kindergarten, Byborgen and Elvetårnet.
