Saxenborg kindergarten is located in Trondheim and was established on February 28, 2007. The kindergarten has its roots back to the 1950s, when the Housewives' Parents' Association ran a children's park on the same plot of land. The initiative to establish the kindergarten was taken by three committed parents in 2004, in collaboration with Barnebygg, with the goal of creating a safe and parent-owned kindergarten for their children.
The kindergarten offers various departments for children aged 0-6 years and emphasizes secure attachment and relationship skills among the staff. There is a focus on children's psychosocial environment and holistic inclusion. Saxenborg kindergarten also has its own vegetable garden and insect park, and offers activities such as trips, play groups and use of the gym. The cooperation between staff, children and parents is an important part of the community, and an annual plan is developed with a focus on everyday activities.
