The Norwegian Species Data Bank is a national knowledge bank for natural diversity, located in Trondheim. The organization aims to collect, systematize and share information about species and habitats in Norway. This includes the development of the Red List of species, which in 2021 documented species in danger of extinction.
One of the central services is Artskart, which gives users the opportunity to see where different species are registered. In addition, the Norwegian Species Data Bank offers Nortaxa, a database that focuses on the management of names and taxonomy. The organization targets researchers and decision-makers, and provides comprehensive information that is important for the conservation of natural diversity.
