CFEED AS is a biotechnology company headquartered in Trondheim, established in 2014. The company builds on over 15 years of research and development at SINTEF Ocean, with a focus on aquaculture. CFEED AS specializes in the sustainable production of copepods, which are small crustaceans with high nutritional value. Their products contain 25% DHA and 13% EPA, as well as a protein content of close to 70%. This means that no enrichment is necessary, and the quality is stable and predictable.
In March 2016, CFEED AS opened the world's first commercial production facility for copepods in Vanvikan, Norway. The facility has been in continuous production since opening, and the company has developed an innovative approach to breeding microalgae and zooplankton, with an emphasis on water quality and microbial control. CFEED AS contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals through its focus on healthy growth of marine larvae, and their product C-podz represents a premium quality of copepod eggs.
