Biobank1 is the regional research biobank in Helse Midt-Norge, established in 2002 as a collaboration between NTNU and Helse Midt-Norge RHF. Biobank1 belongs to the Research Department at St. Olavs Hospital and aims to improve diagnostics and treatment of disease through research.
Biobank1 offers approved and secure storage of biological material, which includes organs, cells, tissues and components from both living and deceased people. In addition to storage, the biobank provides consulting and laboratory services, and has activities that extend across the entire region. Focus on research and health information is central to their activities.
