Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge Sør-Trøndelag (DNST) is a non-profit organization that has worked for animal rights and welfare since 1859. As part of the nationwide Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge, DNST has 28 local branches and is run entirely on a voluntary basis. The organization focuses on practical animal protection, where they assist neglected and homeless animals, and offer adoption of cats and small animals.
In addition to direct help to animals, DNST organizes flea markets to raise funds for its work. The organization also collaborates with the Stiftelsen Dyrebeskyttelsen Trondheim og Omegn to strengthen efforts for animal welfare. DNST emphasizes information and influence to promote awareness of animal welfare in society.
