Suhmhuset, part of the NTNU Science Museum, is a museum that offers a deeper understanding of the Middle Ages in Trondheim. The museum has an exhibition that gives visitors the opportunity to experience the city as it appeared over 800 years ago. One of the most prominent parts of the exhibition is the recreation of Kaupmannastretet, the city's first commercial street, with houses and streets in almost full size.
In addition to the permanent exhibition, Suhmhuset offers private tours for groups as well as scheduled tours. The museum focuses on medieval culture and society, and provides insight into the lives of both women and men during this period. Visitors can also expect interactive experiences and engaging presentations of local history, making it an educational place for anyone who wants to learn more about Trondheim's past. Historical artifacts and information materials are available to further enrich the experience.
