The Magdalena home has its origins from the end of the 19th century, when it functioned as a "Home for fallen women". The home has a rich history, and one of the most documented stories is about Minda Øien, whose story is featured on the "Wall of Feminism" in Olavshallen. Today there is a room dedicated to her, known as the "Minda Room", where guests can stay overnight.
Today, Magdalena Home is used for social gatherings and events organized by the house's current residents. In addition, it serves as a place for archiving and exhibiting historical material, which illuminates the house's unique history. The home is thus an important part of Trondheim's cultural heritage and offers an insight into the past through its activities and exhibitions.
