Teatrets Venner is an association of friends associated with Trøndelag Theatre, whose aim is to support and promote theater life in the region. The association arranges tours of Nye Hjorten Theatre, as well as friends' own performances which include various plays. Throughout the year, they also offer an activity calendar that gives an overview of upcoming events and activities.
The association has awarded an honorary prize to Liv Ullmann, recognized for her contribution to theater and film. In addition, an annual artistic prize is awarded for outstanding achievements in theatre. The Friends of the Theater have also organized free lectures in connection with the Ibsen anniversary, and have carried out member trips, such as to "The Last Viking".
