BUL-salen in Trondheim was established in 1904 with the goal of bringing together children and young people in a drug-free environment. The theatre offers a varied programme of activities in theatre, folk music and folk dance, and has a special focus on preserving Norwegian culture and language. The amateur theatre has members aged 6 to over 60, which contributes to a wide range of experience and creativity.
In addition to theatre productions, BUL-salen has a fiddler's group that participates in various events, as well as a folk dance group with members of all ages and dance experience. The organisation also offers rental of national costumes and sale of national costume fabric, in addition to its own cabin at Lian that can be rented out. This diversity of activities and services makes BUL-salen an important player in cultural dissemination in the region.
