NTNU Trondheim Biological Station is an academic institute specializing in marine biological research. The station has extensive facilities, including 600 m² of wet laboratories and 800 m² of standard laboratories. The continuous access to seawater from a depth of 100 meters allows researchers to perform experiments under optimal conditions. In addition, the station has four temperature-controlled rooms and several 1 m³ tanks for storage and experimentation with marine organisms.
The station is equipped with a large outdoor pool and has access to two research vessels, which facilitates the handling of samples from the Trondheimsfjord. The research vessel Gunnerus and the ROV "Minerva" are also available for various projects. One of the ongoing projects at the station is Taskforce Salmon Lice, which focuses on research related to salmon lice and their impact on the aquaculture industry.
