Vassbygget is part of NTNU and SINTEF, and offers research and education in water resources engineering. The institution has a special focus on sustainable management of water resources, and works within four main areas: hydrology, hydraulics, water environment and hydropower. This gives students a broad understanding of the different aspects of water management and technology.
The education includes the application of hydrological modeling and flood hydrology, as well as hydropower planning. Vassbygget also has an international focus on Norwegian hydropower expertise, which contributes to the green shift and the security of society. The master's program "Hydropower Development" is available for students who want to specialize in this field.
