The Bergen Municipality Urban Environment Agency is a public agency responsible for services related to the urban environment and urban development. The agency works to promote sustainable solutions for urban spaces, and has a particular focus on the maintenance of parks and green areas in the municipality. This also includes the management of Byfjellene, which is an important recreational area for residents.
In addition to the maintenance and development of urban spaces, the Bergen Municipality Urban Environment Agency provides information on bathing water quality and safety, which is relevant for both residents and visitors. The agency also engages residents in processes related to urban design, and provides citizen assistance for questions and messages related to their services. This contributes to active participation from the local community in the development of the urban environment.
