The Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Preparedness (DSB) has the main task of contributing to society's safety and emergency preparedness. This includes advice on self-preparedness, as well as services related to fire safety and electrical safety. DSB works with information on hazardous substances and offers products and consumer services that are relevant to safety and emergency preparedness.
In addition, the Directorate focuses on risk and vulnerability, and offers emergency network services. DSB arranges courses and conferences to increase competence in civil protection. They also have a course center for training and resources, as well as a library of reports and publications that are available for those who want to learn more about the subject.
