Buskerud Music Council is an organization that works to promote music and culture in the region. They offer various grants and support schemes aimed at music activities, and arrange events such as Bandmønstring and songwriters' evenings. The organization has a particular focus on recruitment and participation in bands and orchestras, which helps to strengthen the local music scene.
In addition to its support schemes, Buskerud Music Council runs projects such as "Music in Prison and Freedom", which aims to use music as a tool for rehabilitation and community engagement. They also offer services such as acoustic measurements and mapping of cultural venues, which can be useful for both established and new music communities. The organization collaborates with local music and culture councils to promote a wide range of cultural activities and engages young people through UKM (Young Culture Meetings). An employed acoustic consultant provides specialized services to ensure the best possible conditions for music production and performance.
