W.B. Samson - Grünerløkka is one of Oslo's oldest bakeries, established in 1894. The bakery specializes in sourdough bread, cinnamon buns, school bread, cakes and Viennese goods. In addition to baked goods, they offer lunch dishes with a focus on quality ingredients. The bakery has a collaboration with the Valdresmeieriet, which gives them the opportunity to offer their own cheese made from milk from local farms.
The production of bread takes place using handmade methods, where the dough is allowed to rise for a long time before being baked in a hot stone oven. W.B. Samson also uses mountain pig from Valdres in its products, which contributes to the unique taste. Recently, the bakery has started pressing its own orange juice, which has gained recognition for its taste.
