W.B. Samson - Manglerud is one of Oslo's oldest bakeries, established in 1894. The bakery specializes in a varied selection of baked goods, including sourdough bread, cinnamon buns, school bread, cakes and Viennese goods. In addition to baked goods, they offer lunch dishes with a focus on quality ingredients, which contributes to a holistic dining experience.
The bakery collaborates with the Valdresmeieriet to offer self-produced cheese made from milk from local farms, and uses mountain pigs from Valdres in its products. The breads are made by hand, with a process that includes long-term rising and baking in a hot stone oven, which gives the products a characteristic touch. Recently, they have also started pressing their own orange juice, which has gained recognition for its taste.
