The Norwegian Local History Institute in Oslo is a research institute with a focus on local history and the preservation of cultural heritage. The institute works actively with the collection of articles and images related to prehistoric times, and has a particular focus on ancient monuments such as burial mounds and petroglyphs. Through monthly workshops, all interested parties, not just archaeologists, are invited to contribute their material, which promotes wider participation in the preservation of local historical knowledge.
The institute offers continuous development of articles and has a platform for collaboration and sharing of local history among users. In addition, they provide access to Cultural Heritage Search, which provides more information about historical places. This makes the institute an important resource for both researchers and local people who want to learn more about their own history and cultural heritage.
