The sculpture "Creation from Iddefjord" is a work by the artist Martin Puryear, placed in front of Oslo's new main library in Bjørvika. With its seven meters in height, the sculpture is made of granite and has an organic shape that may resemble a being. This design gives the sculpture a unique character and attracts the attention of passers-by.
Visitors have the opportunity to move around and through the sculpture, creating an interactive experience. It invites direct physical contact with the surfaces, which means that it can be experienced both visually and tactilely. "Creature from Iddefjord" functions as a hybrid figure, and its presence in the public space gives a new dimension to the art experience in Oslo.
