The International Study of City Youth (ISCY) is an international, longitudinal study aimed at 10th grade students. The aim of the study is to investigate pathways through upper secondary education and how these affect further education and working life. By comparing school systems in major cities in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia, ISCY seeks to uncover differences and similarities in educational experiences.
The data collection involves students, teachers and school leaders, and focuses on school experiences and achievements. The study aims to provide insight into how different education systems prepare young people for the future, as well as to understand their educational choices and life after school. Through this comprehensive approach, ISCY contributes to a deeper understanding of the education landscape across different cultures and systems.
