Folkehøgskoleforbundet is a trade, interest and idea organization that represents various professional groups within free-standing folk colleges. The organization works to promote educational development and offers resources to schools. Through courses for teachers and managers, as well as an information office, they support recruitment and information work in the sector.
The association also acts as a platform for joint thinking and debate, and publishes a blog and magazine that address relevant topics. They arrange annual meetings and management forums for principals and inspectors, and have a particular focus on drug prevention work and school visits. In addition, the Folkehøgskoleforbundet is engaged in youth promotion and socially relevant work, which contributes to strengthening the role of folk high schools in society.
