Stoffskifteforbundet is a voluntary interest organization aimed at people with diseases of the thyroid gland, as well as their relatives. The organization works to ensure that everyone with metabolic diseases can live good lives, and offers comprehensive information on conditions such as low and high metabolism, goiter and other related diseases. In addition, they give advice to GPs on handling metabolic tests, and have resources available for both patients and their relatives.
The association also focuses on research and influencing treatments, and organizes various activities, including a Christmas calendar lottery. Membership of the Metabolism Association provides access to specialized resources and a platform for communication with others in similar situations. The organization works for increased fact-based knowledge in society and the healthcare system, as well as for greater visibility in the media and stronger political influence.
