The Vardesenteret at SUS is an organization that offers a free meeting place for people affected by cancer. The center functions as a refuge where visitors can get relief and participate in the exchange of experiences with others in similar situations. There are also peers available here who can provide support and advice to those who need it.
In addition to being a meeting place, the Vardesenteret arranges free legal aid for those in need of legal assistance. A cancer coordinator from the municipality is present monthly to provide guidance and information. The Vardesenteret collaborates with the Norwegian Cancer Society, and has a strong focus on community and support for those facing demanding life situations.
