The Norwegian Reindeer Herding Sami National Association (NRL) is an organization that works for the rights and interests of the reindeer herding Sami. The organization provides information on reindeer herding agreements and actively participates in pilot projects, such as "Ut på vidda", which aim to promote sustainable management of reindeer herding. NRL also arranges joint meetings for Sami groups, which helps to strengthen cooperation between different actors in reindeer herding.
In addition to its work on reindeer herding rights, NRL publishes reports and commentaries on reindeer herding policy. The organization focuses on promoting culture and traditions related to reindeer herding, and supports cooperation between Sami and state actors to ensure the sustainable development of the reindeer herding industry. NRL thus plays an important role in safeguarding and developing the future of reindeer herding in Norway.
