Turbo is a rental business that offers free loans of hiking and leisure equipment to residents of Tromsø Municipality. This offer is available to both children, youth and adults, with a special focus on families. The selection includes alpine equipment for children and youth, as well as tents, sleeping bags and other necessary hiking equipment. To use the services, you must register and have a permanent address in Tromsø Municipality, and you must be over 18 years of age to create a loan account.
The service is run by Tromsø Municipality in collaboration with the Tromsø Red Cross, and aims to promote outdoor life and activity among the population. The loan period for the equipment is usually one week, but children can borrow certain items for a longer period. Turbo prioritizes families and children, which is reflected in the offer and availability of equipment.
