The Foster Home Service in Trondheim is a public agency whose main task is to recruit foster homes in Trøndelag and Møre og Romsdal. The service works to ensure that children who need temporary care receive a safe and stable home. This also includes a focus on specialized foster homes for children with special needs, which is an important part of their offer.
In addition to recruitment, the Foster Home Service offers training to both new and existing foster families. They arrange information meetings for interested parties and courses for foster parents, which help to strengthen the competence and preparedness in foster homes. The service also has an emergency telephone available for foster parents who are facing acute situations, which provides extra security in everyday life. The Foster Home Service is engaged in current issues and needs related to foster homes, and is continuously working to adapt its services to the needs of society.
