The Norwegian Ornithological Society is an organization whose main focus is to protect birds and their natural habitat. Through various activities and gatherings, they work to raise awareness of the importance of bird life and the threats it faces, including the impact of sea winds. The organization actively participates in EuroBirdwatch, an annual event that aims to monitor migratory birds and collect data on their migration patterns.
In addition to offering membership, the Norwegian Ornithological Society publishes journals aimed at bird enthusiasts. They are also involved in important nature conservation projects and collaborate with international nature conservation organizations to promote the conservation of both Norwegian and international bird species. The organization offers resources and information that can be useful to anyone who wants to learn more about bird life and the challenges it faces.
