The Bergen Fire Service's main task is to handle fire and rescue missions, as well as to contribute to fire prevention and safety services in the municipality. They offer education and training in fire protection for both citizens and organizations, with the aim of increasing awareness of fire risk and safety measures. They also provide information about fire hazards, especially in areas with dense wooden buildings, in order to reduce the risk of fire.
An important part of the Bergen Fire Service's work is to offer citizen assistance, where citizens can report concerns related to fire and safety issues. They also focus on public safety and emergency preparedness, which is essential for handling crisis situations effectively. They also offer job opportunities within the fire service, which may be of interest to those who want to contribute to the safety of society.
