Hedmarken fire department is an intermunicipal fire department serving Hamar, Stange and Løten. The main fire station is located in Hamar and is staffed 24 hours a day, ensuring a rapid response to fire and emergency situations. In addition to full-time employees, the fire department has part-time crews on home duty in Stange and Løten, who contribute to the preparedness in these areas.
The fire department offers a range of services, including sweeping, supervision and fire safety services. They also arrange courses and various events to promote fire safety in the local community. An open fire station is planned in Hamar in 2025, which will give residents the opportunity to learn more about fire protection. A focus on prevention and safety is central to their work, and they provide guidance and fire tips to both private individuals and businesses.
