The rankings on NorgeGuide, lists such as “best hotels in Oslo” or “electronics in Oslo”, are put together by our editorial team. Here is a short account of what we judge places on and whether paid placement plays a part.

1. What we weigh

• Information about the place: address, opening hours, prices, the services offered, how current the information is.
• Reviews from visitors on NorgeGuide and the overall picture of ratings in open sources.
• The experience of our editorial team and the experts who check places.
• Accessibility and ease for the visitor: location, booking, the language of service.

2. How we check

For the rankings the editorial team verifies the information against the source and sets a check date. If data is out of date, we update the list and change the date. We state the point in time the ranking is valid for.

3. Does payment play a part

No. Paid services, advertising and priority placement do not affect a place in the ranking. The ranking is built on the points above, the same for everyone. Paid placements on the site are labelled separately and do not enter the editorial rankings through payment.

4. How to flag an error

If you see an inaccuracy in a ranking or out-of-date data, write to
