The Alta Child Welfare Service is a public service whose main task is to safeguard the rights and needs of children and young people in Alta Municipality. The service works to ensure that children who live in conditions that may be harmful to their development receive the necessary help and support. This includes both preventive measures and measures for children who are at risk of being exposed to neglect or other forms of abuse.
The service collaborates with various agencies, such as schools, healthcare and other social services, to create a comprehensive offer for families and individuals. The child welfare service is also responsible for following up on cases involving foster homes and institutional places, as well as offering advice and guidance to parents. Through their work, they aim to promote safety and well-being for children and young people in the local community.
