Finnmark Bondelag is an organization that represents farmers and elected representatives in Alta and the surrounding area. The organization has been recognized as the country's second best local association, with Tana Bondelag as an example of their commitment and activity. Finnmark Bondelag works actively with local and national agricultural issues, and focuses on sustainable practices within agriculture.
An important part of Finnmark Bondelag's work is the development of methane-reducing feed, which is part of their efforts to reduce climate change. They also organize gatherings for young farmers, known as bondespirer, to promote commitment and knowledge among the younger generation. The organization cooperates with the three northern Norwegian Bondelags, which strengthens their network and opportunities for cooperation with various actors in agriculture. Membership is offered to both farmers and elected representatives, which contributes to a broader representation of interests within agriculture.
