EGD Holding AS, formerly known as Aksjeselskapet Einar Galtung Døsvig AS, was founded in 1907 by Einar Galtung Døsvig. The company started its operations in textile trading, but has since developed to focus on sustainable projects. Today, EGD Holding is organized through the subsidiaries EGD Shipholding AS, EGD Property AS and EGD Capital AS, which provides increased flexibility and opportunity for growth.
The company owns the Kulturkvartalet på verftet, an ambitious project with construction scheduled to start in 2025. EGD Holding has a goal of becoming best in class in its field, and in this regard has expanded its cooperation with local players, including the sports club Brann. The strategic direction has been to focus on fewer, but larger projects, which reflects the company's long-term vision.
