Stoltzen Start is a popular hiking area in Bergen, known for its unique challenge and natural beauty. The area has been part of the local outdoor tradition since 1979 and offers a lactic acid guarantee, which is a reference to the physical effort involved in the hike. Stoltzen Start also hosts the annual Stoltzekleiven Opp event, which attracts both participants and spectators from the local area and beyond.
In addition to the hike itself, Stoltzen Start offers an extensive results archive and statistics for previous events, which gives both participants and interested parties the opportunity to follow their achievements over time. A contingency plan has also been developed to ensure the safety of participants during the events. For those who want to look back on past experiences, photos from previous competitions are offered, as well as an anniversary book documenting the history of the area. Stoltzen Start collaborates with local clubs and businesses to promote outdoor life and community in the region.
