Buskerud Red Cross is a voluntary organisation that aims to contribute to a safer and warmer local community. The organisation was founded in 1969, but has roots dating back to 1949. Through a wide range of activities, including rescue work and care activities, they mobilise voluntary resources from local associations to support various community needs.
The activities include aid corps and visiting services, where dogs can also be part of the service. The organisation works with migration and has established crisis and care groups to deal with specific challenges. The Children's Red Cross is an integral part of the service, which focuses on engaging and supporting children in the local community.
