Fredrikstad Sports Council is an organization that works to promote sports and physical activity in Fredrikstad. The council aims to support local sports clubs by allocating over 8 million kroner, which contributes to the development of sports activities in the area. A significant part of these funds, 6.6 million kroner, is specifically aimed at the inclusion of children and young people, which underlines the council's focus on creating an inclusive sports environment.
The organization organizes several activities and seminars, including the Fredrikstad Sports Seminar in 2025, which provides a platform for exchanging experiences and improving skills. Inclusion courses are also offered for the sports clubs' environmental contacts, as well as the Children's Sports Day in Østfoldhallen, which aims to engage young athletes. Fredrikstad Sports Council plays an active role in the development of local sports activities and also supports applications for local activity funds (LAM) to promote sports involvement in society.
