Gulating Court of Appeal is one of the six courts of appeal in Norway and has permanent offices and courtrooms in Bergen, Stavanger and Haugesund. The court is tasked with hearing appeals from district courts in the region, and it contributes to ensuring legal certainty and fairness in the Norwegian legal system.
In addition to the permanent courtrooms, Gulating Court of Appeal has the opportunity to sit elsewhere in the court district as needed. This provides flexibility and ensures that the legal processes can be adapted to local conditions and needs. The court plays an important role in the legal landscape in Norway, by handling cases that are of importance to the residents of the region.
