The Outdoor Council of Nordmøre and Romsdal (FNR) is an intermunicipal cooperative body that focuses on outdoor activities in 13 member municipalities. The organization works to promote outdoor activities and facilitate activities that engage both children and young people. FNR offers various courses and activities within outdoor activities, as well as outdoor schools that provide opportunities for learning in nature.
One of the well-known initiatives from FNR is the hiking campaign Stikk UT!, which encourages people to explore local hiking destinations. In addition, they actively participate in beach clean-ups to combat marine litter, and they celebrate World Gapahuk Day with special activities. FNR also emphasizes sustainability and environmentally friendly arrangements, and collaborates with hiking enthusiasts to select local favorite hikes. The organization has a network for mapping outdoor areas, which contributes to a better overview of available resources for outdoor activities in the region.
