Læringsverkstedet Mortensrud kindergarten opened in August 2015 as the hundredth nursery school in the Læringsverkstedet chain. The nursery is designed with a focus on creating a stimulating learning environment for the children, with specialized rooms such as math rooms, language rooms, creativity rooms and heart rooms. In addition, the nursery has a large gymnasium which is used daily, which provides opportunities for physical activity and play.
The outdoor area is extensive and includes an amphitheater, green areas and a cycle path, which gives children the opportunity to explore and play in nature. The nursery is located in quiet surroundings, close to public transport and woodlands, and has its own nature area with a lavatory which is used on hiking days. The nursery also has its own chef who cooks together with the children, which promotes both enjoyment of food and cooperation.
