Tingeliten Kanvas kindergarten is a two-department kindergarten that welcomes 36 children aged 1 to 6 years. The nursery has a toddler section called Diesel for the youngest, and an older children's section called Blyfri for the older children. It was established in 1994 as an offer for parents in the ESSO area. With nine employees, including four nursery teachers and four assistants, the nursery has a focus on creating safe, independent and social children through everyday activities and theme work.
The children get the opportunity to participate in cooking, where they learn the process from raw materials to the finished meal. The nursery is known for its bright and cozy premises, which contribute to a good play and learning environment. Tingeliten is part of Kanvas, Norway's largest non-profit daycare foundation, which aims to improve children's upbringing and parents' everyday life. Kanvas emphasizes equality, diversity and tolerance, and ensures that at least half of the employees have nursery teacher training, and that all employees receive regular professional training.
