Waelgaard Salim Arkitekter AS was founded in 2021 and has its office in Oslo. The company specializes in both new and old architecture, with a particular focus on cabins and housing projects. The architects adapt the designs to the site's unique character, and work with a process that includes inspection, sketch phase and application work. Emphasis is placed on the detailing phase to ensure optimal quality in the finished projects.
The office's approach is to identify and reinforce inherent qualities in existing constructions and their relationship to the landscape. This applies on all scales, from rooms and houses to larger places. Waelgaard Salim Arkitekter AS wants to open up the use of architects, so that more people can exploit the potential in their projects, regardless of financial conditions. Through various methods such as photography, drawing, models and dialogue, they explore places and spaces to create architectural qualities.
