NordForsk is an organization that works to finance and facilitate Nordic research collaboration. The organization aims to strengthen research in the Nordic region by opening an average of six application rounds each year. The focus areas for the research projects include the Arctic, children and young people, Covid-19, indigenous peoples and social security. This helps to address current societal challenges and promote cooperation across national borders.
In addition to funding, NordForsk emphasizes the societal impact of research projects. The organization develops models for pandemic preparedness in the Nordic region and collaborates with international research partners to promote knowledge exchange. NordForsk also has guidelines for open access and gender equality, as well as offering resources for project monitoring and reporting, which underlines their commitment to supporting the research environment in the region.
