Fotogalleriet, established in 1977, is the only art gallery in Norway specializing in art photography. The gallery aims to problematise media culture and photographic art, as well as the discourse surrounding the photographic image. It has established itself as an important institution in Oslo's cultural landscape, and contributes to the development of contemporary art and new artistic expressions.
The gallery presents various exhibitions, including "Tredje Rom" and "FUTURES 2025", and offers open invitations to artists and curators. This leaves room for experimentation and innovation in the field of art. The photo gallery also emphasizes opportunities for research and education, and creates an engaging atmosphere for art enthusiasts. Through collaboration with both local and international artists, the gallery supports the development of artistic projects, which further reinforces its role in the art community.
