DSB public shelters have the task of offering protection and safety in crisis situations. With a capacity of 5,500 places, the shelter is part of Norway's emergency plan for dealing with various types of emergency situations. This includes both natural disasters and man-made events.
The shelter is part of the Directorate for Community Security and Emergency Preparedness (DSB), which is responsible for coordinating the country's emergency preparedness work. DSB works to ensure that the population has access to the necessary resources and information in crisis situations. The shelter is therefore an important part of the public infrastructure to ensure the citizens' safety.
