Smestad Osteopathy offers osteopathic treatment with a focus on holistic relationships in the body. Treatment targets the causes of ailments, not just the symptoms, and also includes treatment of the connective tissue network. This may be particularly relevant for patients who experience pain and discomfort related to the musculoskeletal system.
Osteopathy is one of the oldest forms of manual medicine treatment, with roots dating back to 1892 when it was established by Andrew Taylor Still. Smestad Osteopathy collaborates with other healthcare personnel when necessary, which can contribute to a more holistic approach to the patient's health. The treatment includes biodynamic and cranial osteopathy, which are specialized methods within the field.
