Fritt Ord is an organization whose main goal is to promote freedom of expression and public debate in Norway. Since its inception, they have been active in supporting arts and culture projects, as well as monitoring the status of freedom of expression in the country from 2013 to 2026. The organization also organizes documentary film screenings and talks that deal with current political topics, which contributes to a wider discussion of social issues.
In addition to its events, Fritt Ord offers grants for projects in journalism and art, with a particular focus on promoting diversity in the newsrooms. The organization collaborates with various film and cultural organizations to strengthen its work and reach out to a larger audience.
