Gartneryrket is an organization that represents the green sector in Norway. It publishes the country's only specialist magazine dedicated to horticulture, where the topics range from flowers and fruit to vegetables and plant protection. The organization has a particular focus on recruiting young gardeners, and works actively to promote the profession through various measures and resources.
In addition to information dissemination, the horticulture profession is engaged in the use of modern technology, such as drones for shading, to improve working methods in the horticulture industry. The organization also works with environmental measures, including Environmental Lighthouse certification, as well as classification of spraying equipment to reduce drift. Advice in law and organisation/politics is also part of their services, which are offered to members. The gardening profession offers subscriptions to the trade magazine and opportunities for advertising, which gives actors in the industry a platform for visibility and communication.
