Heismontørenes Fagforening (HMF) was founded on 5 December 1930, with the aim of bringing together the lift fitters' clubs under a joint board. The trade union is associated with the EL&IT Association and aims to safeguard the interests of its members, which in 2019 were between 800 and 900. HMF's main focus is on practical information and training, and works actively with wage negotiations to ensure good working conditions for lift fitters.
In 2026, HMF plans to offer weekly courses for lift fitters, as well as a new class for guided training. The association also organizes the Heiscupen in Milan, which promotes community and cooperation among its members. Through these activities, HMF wants to strengthen competence and cohesion in the industry.
